This I moved to Texel and the windsurfing is absolutely great: from wave sailing to freeride island hopping (to Vlieland) amongst the seals! If you ever visit Texel, don't hesitate to contact me for spot-tips or to go sailing together.
This year up till now 10 october 2002)the wind was great: in total I was on the water 55 times ranging from Gun Sails 8,8 m2 to 4,5 m2 (Fanatic Stingray / Mistral Naish): I expect a lot of wind in october and november (side-shore southwest!): come visit TEXEL!!!
Because Texel is an island, you can windsurf with each wind direction: Texel has more wind (and sun) than Scheveningen, Zandvoort and Zeeland. South-west winds mean side -shore on Texel!! The waves are not as big as in Zandvoort or as clean as in Scheveningen, but they have more 'mush' to them and they are more powerfull and just after high-tide you can get perfect waves. The currents can be strong, but only for a brief period (just before and after tidal changes)
